The homework is mandatory for a signature, but it does not influence the final grade.  You have to select a task (see the Homework section), solve it, summarize its result in a report in 5-10 pages, submit it in PDF and present your work on the last lecture in 5+5 minutes.

The final grade is determined by the exam.
