The authors reach the conclusion that, contrary to the present research practice where the focus is put on the distribution of the measuring systems, it is rather the measurement maintenance and support that utilizes truly the advantages of the global network. Various scenarios of vendor - customer sessions are presented based upon the Problem Solution Protocol. The ideas are elaborated in more detail for the case of the remote support of the calibration of the precision measuring equipment.
