Introduction

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the functionalities, to the internal operation, and to major types of operating systems. The course also introduces the students to the basics of concurrent and distributed programming model and the internal aspects of operating systems supporting these models. In addition, the subject introduces how these concepts in actual modern operating systems; such as in Windows, Linux, OS X are implemented and accessed.
